Tourist Attractions in Kos (Part I)
Here we discusss about some of the possible tourist attractions that you should visit during your stay in Kos.

Accomodation - Kos Hotels
  • Class A hotels: Aegean Houses, Aeolos Beach, Aristo, Atlantis, Caravia Beach
  • Class B hotels: Andromeda, Apollon, Marina, Palladium
  • Class C hotels: Afentouis, Afroditi, Aliki, Alma, Angela
  • Apartments/Studios: Abavris, Abatros, Alegro, Bristol, Captain Cook, Captain Giannis


Kos Archaeological Sites
  • Asklepion: In the ancient time, the Asklipia is thought be the central place where most of the sick people were cured. It is situated in a beautiful environment with pleasant surrounding, used mostly for therapeutical effect. The people in this area worshipped the god Asklepios.
  • Asklepion of Kos: It is situated about 4 km from the Kos City, on a hill 100 m from the sea, on top of which one is able to see the glaring beauty of the Kos Island and the ancient Greek city of Halicarnassus.
  • Asklepion of Hippocrates: This is the place where the father of modern medicine, Hippocrates, was born.
  • Casa Romana: A place in which built a house with Pompei style, designed by an Italian archaeologist named Luciano Lavrenzi in 1933.
  • Central Zone
  • The Castle: The most imposing moment built during the Venetian period. The Knights of St. John ordered to build it.
  • The Museum
  • The Odeon: A small sized stadium found by Lavrenzi in 1929. It has 9 marble steps for class seating, and 18 steps for regular seating. Several statues can be found under the domed ceiling rooms under the Odeon. The most important statue would be the statue of Hippocrates.


Kos Island Beaches
  • Kos Town: One can enjoy sunning and bathing. It has many umbrellas for shading, cafes, restaurants. Waterski and parachute jumping are also available.
  • Psalidi Beach
  • Lambi beach: Has less umbrellas than others, with a lot of sun. A quiet beach to be in.
  • Therma Beach
  • Tigaki Beach: Beautiful beach with 10 km of white sand
  • Marmari Beach: Has shallow water, perfect for swimming
  • Mastihari Beach: An ideal beach for surfing due to its high waves
  • Kardamena Beach
  • Kefalos Beach: It is thought to be the most beautiful beach in Kos. Located in the Kefalos Village, it has white sand and crystal clear water, overlooking the small island of Kastri, on which is built the monastery of St. Nicholas. This tiny island is very close to the Kefalos beach that one can simply swim to reach it.
