Many of us might is “just what are the visa requirements for those wishing to travel to Greece?” This article will touch upon some of the most important things you may want to prepare before your travel to Greece. Special importance is placed on the visa requirements. In general, most citizens from world countries do not need to obtain visa for stay in Greece of up to 90 days.

The following are the Greek visa requirements for different countries of the world:
Citizens of European Union countries, Canada, Australia, Japan, USA: stay of up to 90 days without visa is permitted.

Citizens of Andorra, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, South Korea (the Republic of Korea), Latvia, Leichtenstein, Lithuania, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, St Kitts & Nevis, San Marino, the Slovak Republic, Switzerland and Vatican City: no visa is required.

Citizens of Brazil, El Salvador, and Uruguay: stay of up to 60 days without visa is permitted.

Citizens of Angola, Bangladesh, the Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, and Turkey: visa (including transit) is required.

It is recommended that those who plan to travel to Greece ask about their visa requirements to the local Greek embassy as the regulations are always updated.

Note that the aforementioned visa requirements are for tourism and business purposes. If you intend to travel to Greece with a diplomatic passport, you are required to contact the state department in your home country so that you will be issued an appropriate visa.
