Overview
The length of stay that a Schengen Visa permits from a one-time stay or accumulated stay may not exceed 3 months (90 days) in a period of 6 months. Note that the validty of a Schengen visa does not exceed six months.

If you would like to apply for a Schengen visa, you should follow these guidelines:

If an applicant wishes to stay in one of the Schengen countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden), he should apply at the consulate office of the country in question.
If an applicant wishes to visit more than one Schengen countries, he should apply for a visa at the consulate of the country of his main destination (i.e: the country in which he will stay the longest)

Requirements For Obtaining a Schengen Visa

A passport that will still be valid at least 6 months from the date of apply.
A proof of citizenship
A recent passport-size photograph
You should write legibly, and in capital letters
A valid plane ticket, or a confirmation of ticket purchase from your travel agent
Ticket has to have dates of departure and arrival
The original ticket must be shown when acquiring the visa

A proof of sufficient medical insurance has to be submitted if you plan to stay for more than 30 days.

If you plan to visit friends or relatives, you must provide their letter of invitation, stating that they have accepted you to stay in their residence.

Note that you must provide the required documents completely. Failure to do will result in the cancellation of your visa application.
